This is an extension to the existing church building and is located on top of a hill at the junction of Jalan Kota and Jalan Bukit Jawa, Klang, next to Sri Kota Medical Centre.
This new annex contains seven floors where the three lowest levels are for car parks. Classrooms and the cafeteria are located on the first floor which is the same level as the main entrance from Jalan Kota. The second floor is the Worship Hall with a built-up area of 16,400 sq ft and accommodates approximately 900 worshippers inclusive of balconies.
Levels three and four are mainly for administrative use with a central conference room overlooking the main worship hall. An elevated glazed baptism pool had been dramatically inserted to the side high wall of the pulpit.
The design of building had carefully responded to the existing slope, where natural ventilation had been incorporated to the semi-enclosed “sub-basement” carparks. The extensive use of glazing on the visible facade provides a striking composition from afar and is seen like a light box or shining beacon from Kota Bridge as one crosses from North to South of the city. The large floating extended roof further enhances the architecture of the new building and metaphorically like a dove hovering to rest.
