Wedged between the ever bustling ‘local’ street of Jalan Imbi and the obscured Jalan Yap Tai Chi is this unique 22 storey boutique Malaysia first Ritz Carlton Hotel.
RITZ CARLTON HOTEL
Situated within a tight prominent corner triangular site of 0.6 acre, the main challenge was to efficiently accommodate 248 rooms, carparking requirements, business and other hotel facilities. The edge fronting the more vibrant Jalan Imbi give rise to a dual frontage for the ground floor with Jalan Yap Tai Chi as the main entrance, the more “hotelier” alley and by default, the edge adjoining drainage reserve is demarcated as the zone for the back of house.

RITZ CARLTON HOTEL
In tandem with its intention as a premier business hotel in Kuala Lumpur, a vernacular vocabulary of colonial architecture was deployed to portray its merchant look. Simple decorative element is used to emphasis the muscularity of the v-shaped tower block with rusticated pillars of double storey height
aluminum bay window for the guest room and a huge rose window at the main entrance to accentuate the main entrance of hotel at Jalan Yap Tai Chi. With stained window in between the majestic pillar, the hotel evokes a sense of silent grandeur and reminiscent of the past.
