This 5-storey Iconic Office Building with 3 naturally ventilated sub-basement in Cyberjaya and with a total construction area of 835,000 sq.ft was built within budget and in record time of 11 months including all statutory approvals. Wisma Shell was the 1st LEED Gold (core & shell) Building (a requirement of tenant) completed in Malaysia.
As it was the 1st in the country, it proved a challenge to the whole team of consultants and contractors as all were inexperienced. The large typical office floor plate of 81,000 sq.ft proved another challenge but through design innovations with various green strategies incorporated, the required GREEN rating was achieved. The final result, an iconic building with a large roof overhang and a large aperture in the centre, while still very utilitarian and functional exhibits that there can still be an Architecture with sustainability.
